Welcome to Our Online Garden!

We have been a fully licensed daycare facility since 1998.  (License #29520.)  But we are so much more than just another daycare!

We don't want to just watch your children.  We want to teach them and help them to grow.  We want to prepare them to soar and bloom in life.  Children are wonderful people who can learn so much!

Our teaching methods are not easily classified.  We have a general program of what we would like for the children to learn while they are with us.  However, our daily activities may suddenly vary because of a child's interest, a new discovery in our playground, or just because the teacher feels inspired.

Children's brains begin absorbing information from the very beginning.  We believe there is not a moment to lose.  Don't get us wrong.  We don't demand that the children learn.  We only demand that they obey the rules and try.  Every child learns at his or her own  pace, but early exposure to concepts can often pave the way for understanding when the child is ready.

We begin in our Infant Room, where Ms. Garlynn interacts with the children:

bulletSinging songs (with them as they learn to speak)
bulletPlaying games with them (according to age and ability)
bulletReading stories to them.

When the children reach the age of 1 year old, they are seamlessly transferred into the Toddler Room, where Mr. Stephen interacts with the children:

bulletSinging songs (with them as they learn to speak)
bulletPlaying games with them (according to age and ability)
bulletReading stories to them.
bulletPotty training them.
bulletTeaching them to begin doing basic things for themselves, such as feeding themselves and putting on their coats and shoes (though tying and buckling will come later when they have sufficient fine motor skills).

When children reach the age of 2 1/2 and potty training is complete, they are seamlessly transferred to the Preschool/Learning Center with Mrs. Cooper.

There we strive to send children from our program into Kindergarten able to:

bulletRecognize each letter of the alphabet and the sound it makes
bulletCount to 1,000 (yes, we're serious!  Come see us do it!)
bulletWrite their names.

So far, every child who has been with us for at least a year has met these goals by the time they go to kindergarten.  We even have several 4 year olds who already meet this standard!  We accomplish this by making it fun for the children, not by force-feeding it.

Check out our site, then come by and see us in action.  Visitors are always welcome.
